Only two today, a reflection of the scarcity of opportunities and one of my hardcore rules:

* Never bet on games in a competition that has three games or less to be played before the end of the season.

CS Turnu Severin (Romania Liga 1 Bergenbier, 5:00pm GMT)

CS Turnu Severin 2, CSMS Iasi 1 – the hosts had to come from behind, French striker Joel Thomas (once of Colchester United and Hamilton Academical) scored the winner with ten minutes left.

Under 2.5 Goals

Viitorul Constanta v Rapid Bucharest (Romania Liga 1 Bergenbier, 7:30pm GMT)

Viitorul Constanta 1, Rapid Bucharest 2 – Rapid played with ten men for 75 minutes following Alexandru Coman’s red card, but managed to score all three goals as Rapid’s Ionut Voicu’s opened the scoring with an own goal just before half time. The hosts finished the game with ten men after Mihai Balasa was dismissed after 75 minutes.

Free Football Tips For Monday 15th April 2013

As the major European winter leagues wind down, I’ll have more opportunities to look at individual games in greater depth.

Home Wins:

FC Vaslui (5:00pm Romania Liga 1 Bergenbier), Elfsborg (6:00pm Swedish Allsvenskan)

Brasov were the last team to win at the Muncipal Stadium (a single goal from Mihai Buga settled the game last March), but the hosts have won eight of their last ten home games and have kept clean sheets in half of those games. In contrast, the visitors last won an away game when they beat Rapid Bucharest last October and although they picked up a point at Gaz Metan Medias in their last away game, their overall tendency over the last 20 games has been to lose the away game immediately after an away draw.

Goteborg have only won twice at Elfsborg in their last sixteen visits in the Allsvenskan and have lost five of their last six visits to the Boras Arena. Although they won at Hacken in their first away game this season, they only won two of their last 13 road trips last season.

Both games finished all square.

Under 2.5 Goals:

Elfsborg v Goteborg

Some contradictions here, which is to be expected as it’s an early season game. Under 2.5 is tradeable at the moment, but there are also indications that both teams may score. If you want to play along with this, I’d do so at low stakes.

Implied Results:

1-0 or 2-0 win for Elfsborg. Small stakes if you’re playing though.

Free Football Tips For Saturday 8th December 2012

Will have to be brief today as I’m expected at my niece’s ‘Star Wars’ themed birthday party at 1:00pm.

They’ve all been checked, but I’m dividing them into two sections: results and goals.

Results:

Leicester and Rapid Bucharest to beat Barnsley and Otelul Galati respectively. I’m backing Rapid even though the last couple of times I’ve backed them they’ve lost. It looks as if they’re over their slump though.

I’ve cursed Rapid – they lost to Otelul Galati. Leicester drew with Barnsley – however, tiered lays on Betfair were matched so no damage done.

Crystal Palace v Blackpool, Sheffield Wednesday v Bristol City, Mons v Anderlecht

Missed on one, but see below.

Free Romanian Football Tip For Friday 19th October

7:30pm GMT

Rapid Bucharest v FC Brasov

Rapid Bucharest last 20 home games: 11-8-1

Brasov last 20 away league games: 3-7-10

Head to head at Rapid’s ground: 8-3-1

HAM potential correct score dutch: 1-1, 1-0, 2-1, 2-0, 0-0

Goals: over 1.5 looks the obvious one to me

Recommendations: back Rapid Bucharest outright, dutch the scores mentioned above but substitute ‘No goalscorer’ for 0-0 (if available) and trade over 1.5 goals – looks like a low scoring game, so it might be an idea to wait until the price drifts in play to 1.5 before backing it. My exit point whould be about 1.13

Result: Rapid Bucharest 1, Brasov 2. Result and correct score both wrong, goals correct. Can’t really count this as anything as a loss.
